Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Luis Barraza
My name is Luis Barraza Aguirre, a proud Army veteran with six years of service, including time in Medical Battalions and with the 1st Special Forces Group. I was raised in Colorado Springs, where I learned the value of discipline, hard work, and integrity—qualities that have shaped both my military and professional life.
Before joining the Army at 18, I worked alongside my father in construction, gaining hands-on experience from the age of 15. That foundation taught me not just about building structures, but about building character, responsibility, and trust. After serving my country, I returned home with a renewed purpose: to create something lasting and impactful.
That mission became LJ Landscaping & Construction—a veteran-operated business focused on quality craftsmanship, honest work, and strong relationships. My journey is deeply rooted in family, especially the work ethic passed down from my parents. They continue to be my greatest inspiration, reminding me to strive every day to be a stronger version of who I was yesterday.
To me, landscaping and construction are more than services—they’re about transforming spaces, supporting families, and building community.

Jael Lucero
I was born in Kentucky and started working in construction when I was just 15 years old. Over the years, I’ve gained experience in roofing, concrete, and landscaping, which taught me the importance of hard work, attention to detail, and doing the job right the first time.
Now with over 10 years of hands-on construction experience, I take pride in leading field operations at LJ Landscaping & Construction as co-founder. I’m on-site making sure every job is done safely, efficiently, and up to our high standards. Whether it's laying concrete or transforming a backyard, I enjoy seeing a project come to life and knowing our clients are satisfied with the results.
What drives me most is the pride I take in my work and the opportunity to build something lasting for others. I believe in honest work, strong teamwork, and constantly learning and improving—values that I bring to every project I’m part of.
Construction Chief Operating Officer
Irvin Gonzalez
I have over 6 years of residential framing experience and have been part of building more than 70 homes from the ground up—from single-level and two-story houses to basement builds. My career has taken me from the deserts of Arizona to the mountains of Colorado, giving me the skills to handle diverse projects and environments.
I started as a framing laborer, worked my way up to journeyman, and now serve as a Residential Framing Project Manager at LJ Landscaping and Construction. Leading crews and making sure projects are completed on time and built to last is what I take pride in every day. I’m committed to quality, teamwork, and getting the job done right.
